A concrete sand is washed and screened to a larger grit than masonry sand.
Concrete sand is ideal for mixing with cement and aggregate to create different types of concrete or hot mix asphalt.
Although significant amounts of sand are used for fill, bedding, sub base basically without processing, most sand in New Jersey is processed prior to use. The processing of sand for a specific market involves the use of different combinations of washers, screens, and classifiers to segregate particle sizes or crushers to reduce oversized material.
Typically our concrete sand is mined from open pits in Northern NJ in a moist or wet condition by excavation or by dredging or crushed at the quarry and then washed through a succession of sieve pans ensuring particle consistency in the final product, definitely, is freed from clay and organic impurities.
Our washed concrete sand can be used with Portland cement and lime and also as a drainage/filtration medium, granular fill, bedding medium for above ground pools, patios or walkways and very often in the winter as a de-icing sand.
Located in northern New Jersey, we service locally bulk delivery for Sussex County, Passaic County, Bergen County, Morris County, Essex County and Hudson County.
